Vote. Period.

29 09 2008

Regardless of your political ideologies, the one thing we all can agree on is that this next general election is one of the most important in years.  The deadline to register to vote in Arkansas is 30 days prior to an election.  That means you must be registered by Monday, October 6th in order to vote in the November 4th general election.  There are several ways to register including visiting your county clerk’s office or by going to Rock the Vote.  For more information on registration visit the Secretary of State’s website.

On November 4th you must vote.  Period.

Walkability

25 09 2008

More than ever people want a home located in an area where they can walk to dining, shopping, and other activitiesWalk Score is a great website that allows you to score a neighborhood on “walkability” by entering an address.  It will plot nearby attractions (e.g. businesses, parks, churches) and rate the neighborhood on its walkability on a scale of zero to 100.

Fayetteville has made great strides in the past few years to make the city a more walkable community.  From construction of the Scull Creek Trail to implementation of aggressive traffic calming device plans, the city has a number of strategies to make it safe & easy for pedestrians.

Underwood Plaza sneak peek!

20 09 2008

Arguably the most anticipated residential development in Northwest Arkansas history, the Lofts at Underwood Plaza is nearing completion.  For the first time today the general public was invited in to tour the building and see the progress.  For those of you who were too devastated by the Razorbacks’ loss to join us at Underwood Plaza today, I took some photos for your enjoyment.  Please keep in mind that this is not the finished product, but a good representation of what these luxury condos will look like upon completion. For more information, a private tour, or our information center hours contact me anytime!

Old Main and Underwood Plaza  I took this photo at the corner of Mountain St. and School Avenue:

Underwood Plaza rises 138 feet above Dickson Street.  Floors one, two (Dickson level), and three house retail, restaurant, and office space while floors four through nine are comprised of 51 luxury condominiums ranging from 522 to 2,026 square feet and from $185,850 to $1,296,050.

There are three interior design packages including Traditional, Urban Loft, and Metropolitan (pictured):

Absolutely every condo has a spectacular view whether it’s of Dickson Street, the University of Arkansas campus, the Boston Mountains, or the downtown Fayetteville Square.  The views are guaranted to remain unobstructed due to new city ordinances limiting buildings on Dickson to a maximum of 6 stories.  The view from 503 overlooking Dickson Street:

The view from 902 of the Fayetteville Square and the Boston Mountains:

The view from condo 901 overlooking Old Main, an icon of not only the University of Arkansas but Northwest Arkansas:

Fayetteville Farmers’ Market

6 09 2008

I woke bright and (somewhat) early this morning to do one of my very favorite activities - go to the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market.  The market is open Saturday mornings on the downtown square from 7am - 1pm starting in early April and running through late November.  The market is also open in the Mill District on Thursdays from 4pm - 7pm with a slightly shorter season (visit the website for exact dates).  As you can tell from the photos below (from my phone cam, sorry), there is a diverse offering at the market including fresh produce & flowers, performers, crafts, and ready to eat food (scroll down for more photos and captions).  This is just one reason Fayetteville is a great place to call home!

One great thing about the market is that the vendors have to have grown or made their wares themselves - no re-selling!  The produce & flowers are always fresh and flourishing.  Take a look:

The market is very dog friendly.  They show up in every size:

There are also demonstrations such as flower arranging:

The local musicians and performers love to come out for the crowd!

As do the politicians like Mayor Dan Coody:

I even got my own political flair thanks to Mark Kinion who is running for City Council, Ward 2:

Welcome to the Monterey

4 09 2008

The MontereyIntroducing the Monterey!  Just a half block from the University of Arkansas campus in beautiful Fayetteville, Arkansas, the Monterey is home to the region’s newest condominium conversions.  Built in 1926, the Monterey has housed a green tea room, a dance hall, efficiency apartments, and more.  Now the structure is being brought into the future by fulfilling its potential as eight luxury condos.

The stucco, Art Deco inspired building is walking distance to the University of Arkansas, Dickson Street, Wilson Park, and more.  With prices starting at $187,000, the Monterey condos will feature high-end finishes including hardwood floors, quartz countertops and decorative tile.  The building features designated parking, individual climate-controled storage for each unit, and a common area with laundry facilities and a kitchenette with room to create a gaming area or gym for property owners’ use.

For more information or to tour the property contact Anthony Clark at 479-935-6080 or anthonyclarkrealtor@gmail.com.

Below is a photo of the structure as it appears today.  I will be posting more photos as the work progresses so please check back!

Northwest Arkansas goes Modern

The natural beauty of Northwest Arkansas is undeniable.  However, the architecture of the region is equally as important.  This is just a small taste of the modern architecture popping up around town.  Fayetteville in particular has always been progressive when it comes to things like planning, development, and architecture.  Above is Shogun Japanese Restaurant (Fayetteville).  Also pictured a building on the University of Arkansas Engineering Research campus (Fayetteville), the Church at Pinnacle Hills (Rogers), and the new aloft Hotel by W Hotels (Rogers).

Is this art?

13 08 2008

While driving through the Mission Hills subdivision - a beautiful, small subdivision at the base of Mt. Sequoyah - I noticed this and for some reason thought it was hilarious enough to share.  No, I don’t think it’s art…. just the doings of a car hobbyist.

Why Choose Anthony Clark?

1 08 2008

Rather than brag about myself, I prefer to let my past clients do it!  In their words….

Jason & Cindy

Anthony was very concerned with making sure our every need was met before we even knew to ask.

David & Jeff
Working with Anthony was a dream.  He listened to what we wanted and offered suggestions to improve our search.  In three weekends he found the home that was just right for us.

Duane & Karee
Anthony is the non-anxious presence we’ve always hoped for (but seldom found) in a Realtor - plus he gets answers quickly, without drama, and tolerates our quirks.  Hard to believe there was a better agent for us….!

Jake & Dana
Anthony met all the deadlines for us.  He went above & beyond the “call of duty.”

Salvatore
Anthony was very helpful. We could not have closed on the house without his assistance, and he went out of his way to accomodate us.

Keith & Rachel
When we have to relocate again, we will call Anthony to sell our house. [The Christiansen Family was in quite a pinch when their employer decided no to transfer them.  Their home?  Sold and going to closing in a week!  After being referred to Anthony by an associate with medical problems, they saw 30+ homes in 3 days.  Anthony listened, took note of their needs, and on day three found the perfect home for the family.  Even the kids loved it!]

George & Laurie
We appreciated the post card mailings, open houses and use of the website which our former Realtor never did!  Anthony is personable and very professional!  He is an asset to [his brokerage]. [The Pearns had a home that was on the market for 12 months with another brokerage.  Only one open house was held during that time and they didn't see any direct marketing efforts.  When they listed their home with Anthony Clark, they were shocked when he mailed over 400 post cards the first week to the neighborhood and his network group.  Three open houses were held in the first 30 days.  The buyer came from one of those opens and the house went under contract in 41 days!]

Beth

I have a wonderful house that I love and Anthony helped me get it!

Don & Anita
Just a note to let you know how much my husband and I appreciated the excellent service provided by your Sales Executive, Anthony Clark.  We chose to move to the Dallas area for work related reasons, and had to sell our house….  I interviewed Realtors from three different companies before choosing Anthony.  He was by far the most professional and organized person I spoke with and presented a thorough plan for marketing our home.  Our home was located on a street that did not have a high traffic volume, but Anthony placed signs in key locations and directed interested buyers to our street.  Unfortunately, we were caught in the situation of having composite shingles over wood on the roof of our house. Although it was not a problem for us when we purchased our home almost three years ago, we found that insurance companies will no longer insure houses with that condition.  That forced us to reroof the house in order to sell.  Anthony handled this complication (and my frustration over the added expense to us) very well, and successfully negotiated a contract for us that provided us with the most money possible.  Anthony certainly represents your company very well and, I believe, will achieve whatever goal he sets for himself.
